Transmitter channel tracking for optimal power allocation

چکیده
The design of accurate equalization schemes, optimizing the transmission strategy, can be achieved if channel status information is available not only at the receiver but also at the transmitter side. Accordingly, we propose a feasible scheme to track the channel response by the transmitter based on channel prediction, becoming a suitable solution in timevarying channels. Moreover, to follow faithfully the channel variability, the receiver can estimate the channel prediction error and next update the transmitter predictor through a return link. This paper, provides an accurate study of the predictor design, and analyzes the way to minimize the amount of information exchanged through the feedback channel concerning the di erential entropy of channel evolution. Furthermore, the prediction error is quanti ed focusing on the rate-distortion function, and it is shown that a low throughput is enough for tracking the channel coeÆcients even in the presence of fast time-varying channels.

Power Allocation In Cooperative Relay Channels
This paper concerns power allocation in relay-assisted wireless channels for two-hop transmission. First, the transmitter sends the information to both the relay and receiver parts. Next, in the second hop, the transmitter cooperates with the relay to increase the received signal to noise ratio (SNR), assuming the relay makes use of the Amplify and Forward (AF) strategy. Moreover, it is assumed...
متن کاملRate Regions and Optimal Power Allocation for TD Fading Broadcast Channels without CSIT
We study the achievable rate region and optimal power allocation for broadcast channels (BC) under orthogonal access schemes. The channel follows a block fading model with channel side information (CSI) perfectly known at the receiver but not at the transmitter. The region boundary is determined by finding the optimal power allocation associated with all boundary points. For the two-user case, ...
متن کاملCapacity and Optimal Power Allocation for Fading Broadcast Channels With Minimum Rate Requirements
We derive the capacity and optimal power allocation scheme for a two-user fading broadcast channel where minimum rates must be maintained for each user in all fading states, assuming that the transmitter and both receivers have perfect channel state information. We show that superposition coding can achieve the capacity of such channels and explicitly characterize the boundary of the capacity r...
متن کاملPower and Bit Allocation for Wireless OFDM Channels with Finite-Rate Feedback and Subcarrier Clustering
The study investigated the allocation of transmission power and bits for a point-to-point orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing channel assuming perfect channel information at the receiver, but imperfect channel information at the transmitter. Channel information was quantized at the receiver and was sent back to the transmitter via a finite-rate feedback channel. Based on limited feedback...
متن کاملA Rate-Splitting Based Bound-Approaching Transmission Scheme for the Two-User Symmetric Gaussian Interference Channel with Common Messages
This paper is concerned with a rate-splitting based transmission strategy for the two-user symmetric Gaussian interference channel that contains common messages only. Each transmitter encodes its common message into multiple layers by multiple codebooks that are drawn from one separate code book, and transmits the superposition of the messages corresponding to these layers; each receiver decode...
متن کاملOptimal Power Allocation with Partial Channel Knowledge for MIMO Multicarrier Systems
Closed-loop schemes optimizing power allocation can be applied if Channel Status Information (CSI) is available at both transmitter and receiver. However, CSI is never ideal and algorithms performance degrades rapidly when CSI is poor. In this contribution a MMSE cost function that takes into account channel uncertainty is proposed for MIMO systems with OFDM modulation. The derived algorithm is...
